The TDS of your drinking water is also known as Total Dissolved Solids or TDS for short. It’s a measurement of the amount of dissolved particulate matter, generally salts found in water. Higher levels of TDS can be unhealthy to your body and can lead to acid reflux disease, kidney stones, irregular bowel movements and more.

TDS is high salt or sodium content in water. The amount of sodium chloride is used to determine the degree of hardness and tectonic dissolvability.

If you use soap and tap water to wash your face, the result can be dry skin. A lack of water in the right balance will lead to a breakout of pimples and blackheads. If you have irritation on the skin or redness after using soap and conditioner, try using a milder type of soap like Dove or Unscented bar. Soaps with high salt content might be causing skin problems by altering the bacteria that resides on our bodies. This can have devastating side effects on the body, such as high blood pressure and heart disease, as well as other issues such as headaches, muscle cramps, dizziness and more. The most common problems that people have with high TDS is the burning sensation on their skin, eye sting, nausea and/or vomiting.

The main reason why it’s considered as harmful is because of its side effects. Side effects are caused by the salt content in your water and not by the amount of minerals in it. So if you are drinking water with high TDS levels, then make sure that you drink at least two liters of good quality water everyday to stay hydrated and not experience negative side effects.

If you live in a city and your tap water has a high TDS content, then you are probably having occupational exposure to excess sodium chloride in the form of chloride effluent from industrial processes. Research shows that excess chloride can cause cardiovascular problems, hypertension, congestive heart failure, increased blood pressure and heart attack.
So we should not use high TDS  level in drinking water because it is harmful for our body. that is not good for your health.
