Side effects of High
TDS in drinking water
The TDS of your drinking water is also known as Total
Dissolved Solids or TDS for short. It’s a measurement of the amount of
dissolved particulate matter, generally salts found in water. Higher levels of
TDS can be unhealthy to your body and can lead to acid reflux disease, kidney
stones, irregular bowel movements and more.
TDS is high salt or sodium content in water. The amount of
sodium chloride is used to determine the degree of hardness and tectonic
dissolvability.
If you use soap and tap water to wash your face, the result
can be dry skin. A lack of water in the right balance will lead to a breakout
of pimples and blackheads. If you have irritation on the skin or redness after
using soap and conditioner, try using a milder type of soap like Dove or
Unscented bar. Soaps with high salt content might be causing skin problems by
altering the bacteria that resides on our bodies. High TDS in your water can lead to a number of health
issues, including sickness and even death. Because you do not get enough of the
electrolytes you need, you may be more susceptible to disease. Additionally,
high levels of salt in water can damage your kidneys. High Dietary Salt Intake Linked to Increased Risk of Cancer
and Cardiovascular Disease, Says NIH Study
High TDS side effects
Drinking excessive amounts of water can be dangerous, as it
depletes your body of minerals and electrolytes. As a result, the kidneys are
forced to eliminate essential minerals - the salt that your body needs to
survive. This can have devastating side effects on the body, such as high blood
pressure and heart disease, as well as other issues such as headaches, muscle
cramps, dizziness and more. The most common problems that people have with high TDS is
the burning sensation on their skin, eye sting, nausea and/or vomiting.
The main reason why it’s considered as harmful is because
of its side effects. Side effects are caused by the salt content in your water
and not by the amount of minerals in it. So if you are drinking water with high
TDS levels, then make sure that you drink at least two liters of good quality
water everyday to stay hydrated and not experience negative side effects.
If you are drinking high TDS water, then you should know
that its effects on your body. The
risk of developing high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease increases the
more salt a person consumes. The best way to reduce the burden of sodium on
your health is to consume less salt. Decreasing your intake will also help
prevent other heart disease-related conditions such as heart failure, stroke
and kidney problems
If you live in a city and your tap water has a high TDS
content, then you are probably having occupational exposure to excess sodium
chloride in the form of chloride effluent from industrial processes. Research
shows that excess chloride can cause cardiovascular problems, hypertension,
congestive heart failure, increased blood pressure and heart attack.
So we should not use high TDS level in drinking water because it is harmful for our body. that is not good for your health.
